HEMPOLOGY 101: THE HEMP VIBE!

Our goal was to give you a complete sensory experience with hemp.  You get to see hemp, feel hemp and learn facts about the benefits of this carbon sequestering plant.  Our venue partner, Patagonia in Fulton Market, Chicago helped create a great environment for learning.

Our opening video message from State Representative Sonya Harper was the start we needed, thank you!  Joining the Illinois Stewardship Alliance as part of Soil Week, we highlighted a unique farming perspective from our guest speaker, Patrick Brown from Brown Family Farm in North Carolina.  He is a leader in the hemp farming industry, and he shared his experience with hemp, the industry and some of the challenges he faces in the changing dynamics of agriculture.

Can't get enough hemp?  Well, there was a "Hemp in Action" area where our industry partners Pink Hats Construction and the Build Green group provided hempcrete, hemp wood and a biochar display.  The Illinois Hemp Growers Association gave us some legislative points to ponder and great everyday treats with sample hemp soaps for everyone!

Our community partners showed BIG support, thank you to members of the Micro-Credentialing Consortium group and for joining us and assisting in getting our message out to the community.

Leaving the event, everyone became a certified "Hempologist" gaining a bit more knowledge than before and a consistent resource for everything sustainable and hemp.

WE THANK OUR PARTNERS AND PARTICIPANTS FOR MAKING THE EVENT A MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE!

STAY CONNECTED FOR THE NEXT EVENT IN OUR SERIES: WATER
